How can

hypnotherapy

Help you?

Tap into the power of your

Subconcious

So many issues we experience as humans originate from locked in emotions from past traumas. We then subconsciously react to these emotions from the past, which present themselves as fears, illnesses and barriers. Hypnotherapy works with the subconscious mind to go straight to the source, and release these emotional root causes, resulting in lasting healing and transformation.

What is hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a focused state of inner awareness, where you are able to bypass your conscious thinking mind, and access your subconscious mind. Hypnosis is a natural, day-dreamy state of mind that we go into many times naturally during the day, for example when driving a familiar route and going on ‘auto pilot’. This hypnotic state is called ‘trance’. The therapist is able to guide the client into this natural state by relaxing the body and mind, and directing the focus inwards.

What does it feel like?

The hypnosis experience can be described as being awake while sleeping, in that the mind and body are deeply relaxed, but unlike being in a sleep state you are aware of everything around you and remember the whole experience.  During your session, you are always in control and at any stage have the ability to open your eyes or hold back communicating information, although for the therapy to be most effective it takes co-operation from the participant.

Hypnosis is different for everyone and every session is different. Some may be very visual while in trance, while others may feel physical sensations or become very intuitive, or a combination.

How is hypnosis used for therapy?

I specialize in regression therapy, which utilizes the hypnotic state and the wisdom of your subconscious mind, to go straight to and release the emotional root cause of a presenting physical symptom, in order to support deep healing and transformation.

Some of the reasons you may be interested in hypnotherapy are:

⁘  Limiting beliefs, lack of confidence + self worth
⁘  Anxiety, panic attacks, phobias, depression, PTSD + OCD
⁘  Emotional imbalances
⁘  Unwanted habits, behavioural issues + addictions
⁘  Physical illnesses, IBS, skin problems, allergies + weight issues
⁘  Relationship and sexual issues
⁘  Personal development, healing and spiritual exploration
⁘  Interest based past life exploration

I have specific knowledge and experience working with people who are considering coming off, currently tapering from, or have discontinued psychiatric drugs. I work with children, teens and adults.

What happens during a session?

During your first session we will discuss the issues you are seeking to resolve, and you will be given more information about the process and what to expect. After our initial conversation, you will have the opportunity to experience hypnosis and we often go straight into therapy in the first session.

Sessions are 1 1/2 hours in length, with the initial session running up to 2 hours. Sessions are available online or in person in St. Margret’s Bay, Nova Scotia. Online sessions require a stable internet connection and zoom via your phone or computer. During your session you can choose to either lay down fully on a bed or couch, or recline in a chair, in a room where you will not be disturbed. Online sessions are just as effective as face-to-face sessions, perhaps even more effective, and allow you to feel comfortable in your own surroundings which aids in the relaxation process.

At the end of the session you will have the opportunity to talk about your experience and decide if you would like to book again. The number of sessions needed to resolve an issue is unique to the client, but by being able to go straight to the emotional root cause with the guidance of your subconscious, we are able to work much more quickly and effectively on resolving your issues vs many other therapies.
